Little Friars and Sisters of Jesus and Mary
Houma, Louisiana

The "Little Friars and Sisters of Jesus and Mary," otherwise known on the internet as the "Poor Friars"; are a mixed Religious Community of poor brothers and sisters (approved at a Diocesan Rite at Noto, Sicily May 2014 as an Association of Faithful; for 3 years "Ad Experimentum" in the anticipation of becoming an Institute of Consecrated Life) with the charism of other than being semi contemplative (maintaining female cloistered life in a convent distinctly and strictly separate from that of the males), is also that of sending souls to the Catholic Sacraments (in particular Holy Confession and Holy Communion) through frequent Evangelization along the streets of the world, living with the spirit of the first Carmelites and the first Franciscans in total poverty, simplicity and in a professional nature (as described in the Lateran Pontifical University at Rome's periodical).

Their spirituality draws from St. Francis for the Evangelization and total poverty (not accepting nor touching money [Cf. Mt 10.9]: not that it be bad to touch it, given that also the Apostles had a safe keeping [Cf. Act 4, 35]), St. Theresa of Lisieux for her Childlike relationship with Christ, St. Padre Pio for his devotion to Mary and the Holy Rosary, and St. Maximilian Kolbe for his Catholic publications and printing.

Traveling by hitchhiking, their apostolate for excellence takes place in the vehicles of the people who pick them up, educating them and invite them to the Eucharistic Banquet of the Holy Sunday Mass... All for the Salvation of the most number of souls and for the major Glory of God. All Vocational Inquiries are happily welcomed.
